And we're back - whole new site design, lots of pictures, lots of new stuff. Tons of stuff to
mention, but I'll be back to update you on that stuff soon. The big news this
week is that we're on the cover of this week's issue of Flagpole
Magazine. It's the final article in Geoff Carr's wowgirl film diary series, and this
time out, Geoff went for an insider photo-essay, Geraldo-style. Lots of great pictures and
factoids from the shoot can be found
right here.
Geoff took most of the pictures you'll see on this site as well. So browse the new website,
and keep checking the production page - lots of stuff will be showing up there in the next
couple of weeks.

We finished our last major location shoot last night. It's really the second scene in the film, but
we got around to it near the end. Big thanks to Murphy at TastyWorld
for letting us come in (particularly on such short notice) and shoot the bar. We had to
improvise a little because of some last minute changes, but the scenes is going to come out really
nice, I think. We had some great extras who came and hung out and helped us out - it was great to
meet you all, and thanks for your help! Also, the newest issue of the Flagpole has another article
about the film, this one detailing our 18-hour party sequence shoot. Flagpole's support is greatly
appreciated, so head over to their website
and read away.

News, News, and News! We've got our first rolls back from the transfer shop, and they are
looking damn fine. We had some slight problems with areas we knew might have some problems,
but they are fixable. And Shawn's pans and camera work look great. The tracking shot that
Lauren and Chamberlin helped him with is flat out beautiful. Who knows, you might get
yourself a clip in the next few weeks, if you're nice to us. Also, the second
article in the series over at Flagpole.com,
Filming Gets Underway,
is up. Read it there, or grab the print copy.

Flagpole Magazine has done a very cool article on Rational Spirit and the making of
wowgirl, as written by sometime Continuity Photographer/Clapboard Operator and actor
Geoff Carr. Thanks for the support, Flagpole! Check out the story
here.

Sleep is for the weak. At least, I keep telling myself that. Ladies and Gentlemen, we
are in full Pre-production swing! The major leads have all been cast, and we have
started rehearsals. We're still working on casting some smaller parts and we're
storyboarding and getting locations confirmed as I type this. We've extended the
shoot by a week to give us more time to get things done. The dates are now
March 3-18. I just want to thank the community, from stores and restaurants, to local bands
and companies who have volunteered to help us with this project. Athens is one of the
greatest places in the world and the community support for indie film, music, and art is
absolutely incredible! Rational Spirit greatly appreciates your help and enthusiasm!
Thank You.

We had auditions on Saturday! Things went great with a variety of Athens talent (and some
people from much further away) auditioning for roles. I think I speak for most of the
crew with me when I say that I am amazed at all the talented people who showed up -
we are much impressed! Currently we are sifting through the tapes and deciding on who we
want for what part - it's going to be a tough decision. Special thanks to my man
Nate Childers and the Georgia Center for helping out with locations. Also, Dana Brown
designed the lovely advertisement and the fliers that were floating around town. I don't
know what I'd do without them and everyone else on the crew whose energy and drive
for this project is unbelievable.
